We recently asked Martin's students, "how has Thai massage helped them in the work place?" Here are some of the responses:
Dear Beth and Martin,
I have definitely included Thai massage in my practice. As soon as I came home I practiced on about ten people and after two weeks, began offering it. It was a new and exotic modality to the general public. I have incorporated some additional atmospheric qualities and it has become a fabulous word-of-mouth marketing technique.
Everyone wants to know what exactly it is. I explain a little, but always say, "You HAVE to experience it. It is incredible." They all have LOVED it!
So many of my clients say they never want any other kind of massage again. That's exactly how I felt after the training!
I have two clients that haven't been back to the chiropractor since seeing me. One client who had broken her neck and couldn't lay face down with her head turned to the right side (she's 75) and after 8 treatments she not only could lay without pain but her joints had stopped bothering her during her workouts. Another client who is also my boss that swears by it before his 100 mile bike marathons he's recently begun and another boss who has stopped having back/sciatic pain after just 3 treatments...
...I loved Martin's style of teaching, his patience and his generosity in sharing his knowledge.

I am doing Thai bodywork in my practice here in Rome, NY. There are many people that still have never heard of Thai Massage/Bodywork. I am doing my best to get the word out and educate the public at health fairs and other venues. I offer a discount for any client's 1st time Thai session. Most people fall in love with Thai massage and re-book for another session and 80% of Thai 1st timers don't get back on the massage table.
Everyone is amazed at their increased energy levels after a Thai session.
Thai massage benefits client and myself as a therapist because of the nature of the work. Thai is based on effortless work (the wu wei) using gravity, leveraging and yoga poses which encourages good body mechanics. Happy clients and healthy therapists!

I attended Martin's class in August and am loving Thai massage! I have a space in a yoga studio, which couldn't have worked out better as far as finding clients who are interested in this type of massage. I have one weekly client who attends a yoga class immediately following his massage appointment, so it must be helping his performance in class. I'm offering the first session at about half price since it's still a relatively new modality for me, but everyone I've worked on had an enthusiastic response. Thank you, Martin.

I would say that I am almost exclusive now with Thai Massage. As a massage therapist I have work with many modalities and I wanted to give my clients something deeper that would allow them to relax and reduce their stress while they are with me and then take the meditative parts home with them.
Thai massage incorporates more of a total mind, body and spirit experience so the client is able to relax deeper because of the solos they experience, taking them to another level of stress reduction. I believe that stress is the cause of a majority of the issues we experience on a daily basis. Thai massage seems to be the best answer for this because it involves the client in the session there-for releasing their endorphins producing a joyful and mellow feeling, allowing them to deal with life and its issues.

I am happy to say that I have a steady stream of Thai Massage clients and that your classes have given me a powerful tool that supplements my wellness offerings to my clients. I recouped the expenses of my education in Thailand within a few months of offering Thai Massage, and am still enjoying the memories that we made together on that wonderful trip.
You two make a wonderful team. Martin, you are an excellent teacher, and I would highly recommend your classes to anyone who is considering learning Thai Massage.

Absolutely it has helped. I feel much more confident as I make adjustments in class and I use many of the techniques he taught us when I do group classes as well as in my private practice. My family loves it as well. The training is a must for anyone who is a hands on teacher.

Yes! Thai massage has been a big part of my practice, especially since opening a new yoga studio. My yoga clients are loving it! Many of them say that the benefits can be felt up to several days later. The practice is also helping me financially while I work on building my regular yoga classes.

This course went beyond my expectations! Martin presents this beautiful work with great passion while honoring the tradition of Zen Thai. I know that this course will assist me in taking my massage practice to a new and exciting level, one that I could not have imagined four days ago, thank you!
– Karen Kilty, Danvers, MA
I had two weekends of massage events in October. I saw the same number of clients both weekends, but made three times as much the second weekend because of Zen Thai. The most amazing part is that I did not feel as sore or tired after the Zen Thai weekend.
Zen Thai has become the most valuable addition to my practice, both financially and physically. The techniques are effective on my clients and most important, easier on my body than regular massage. Thank you!

...Martin has a calming and thoughtful manner that learning seems a total delight. I really needed to get back into my practice... I just keep reminding myself that Martin kept saying use as little energy as possible and it will just flow.
– Ellen Skaneateles, NY
I’m not the most coordinated person... I had no experience with yoga... Martin let each us work at our own pace and taught with compassion and patience, telling us to just do our best and with practice we would succeed. I have already introduced some of the yoga postures on the massage table – my clients commented that they had never been stretched like that during a deep tissue massage. They really enjoyed the stretch and pressure. Above all, it was so easy on my hands and body. Thank you, Martin.

I thank you for sharing your knowledge of Zen Thai with me. I didn’t truly understand the relief Zen Thai can render. Not only do I feel I can improve my clients’ pain issues, but I found a wonderful therapy for my own body.

I felt as if I discovered massage all over again, incorporating mind, body, and spirit. To me, this is what healing is all about. Thank you, Marty, for inspiring me to find my new niche!

I love this work. It is exactly what my practice has been missing. I also feel it will strengthen my body and mind. Martin is an excellent teacher. I would recommend him to anyone.
– Vickie Radovanic, LMT, Cleveland, OH
Because I am a very small woman I was initially concerned about working on much larger person than myself. However, with the techniques that Martin taught, it became almost effortless.

This is the way massage is supposed to be.
